What are we?
We are a concert band – wind orchestra – of woodwind, brass and percussion. We are a self-governing band, and enjoy ourselves whilst maintaining a good standard of play. Come and enjoy the music at our forthcoming events, or contact us to come along and play.
What music do we play?
We play music of all periods and styles, from Renaissance Italy to modern Broadway.
Who are we?
We are a mixture of ex-pros, semi-pros, amateurs and students, and we welcome players of any age.
What concerts do we give?
Since our foundation over thirty years ago, we have given more than 150 concerts, indoors and outdoors, in Abingdon and the surrounding area.
When do we rehearse?
We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 8–10pm at Dunmore School in Abingdon.

Next Concert - A Spring Festival
Abingdon Concert Band will be joining forces again with the Bicester Concert Band to present A Spring Festival. Following our successful, if somewhat soggy, collaboration at the Proms in the Park concert in Bicester, the two bands will be performing in the hopefully drier surroundings of Abingdon Guildhall on Easter Saturday, 11th April 2009.
Winter 2009 Playing Day: Saturday 14 February
Sign up today for our winter playing day on Saturday 14 February 2009. With a guest conductor and a wide range of music it promises to be another enjoyable day. Players from other bands or anyone wishing to try out playing in a concert band are warmly welcomed...
Christmas Concert
The band's annual Christmas Concert took place at Silk Hall, Radley College on Saturday 13th December at 7:30. The performance comprised an evening of carols, readings and festive favourites such as White Christmas and Troika.
National Concert Band Festival
The band took part in the National Concert Band Festival on Sunday 16th November at the regional heat in Northampton. A creditable bronze award was achieved in the band's first attendance at such an event.
New Brass Players Wanted!
